How To Start

Question: What are you looking for in a therapist?

Therapy services can vary based on the training, experience, and preferred demographic or issues that a clinician chooses to focus on.  For RLC therapist/providers, check out the Welcome or The Team page to see specifics about practice philosophy and areas of interest for each provider.

Be a savvy consumer; check out the prospective therapist's profile with your insurance or EAP company, look up their website and Psychology Today profile, or do a Google search.

Keep in mind that your time is valuable! Put forth some effort to select a therapist that will be the best fit for you.

Question: How do I pay for therapy services?

There are several options for payment:

1) Private Pay- If you do not have mental/behavioral health coverage, you can pay out of pocket.  There are set rates for therapy that are billed to insurance, and in cases of a client with no insurance, those exact charges will apply to services received and or expected to be paid at the time of service. Discounts are available for private pay clients.

2) Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)-If employed, check with your HR department to determine if EAP benefits are offered.  If so, you can request referral and assessment services on a short-term basis.  These services will be confidential and free of charge to you.

3) Insurance-Contact your insurance provider to see what mental/behavioral health benefits are offered.  You want to ask about expected payment for copays, deductibles, and benefit limitations. Please note that if your deductible is unmet, you must reach that out-of-pocket amount before your insurance covers their contracted service percentage. You can confirm if your insurance covers mental health services by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.

Consumer News: Good Faith Estimates are in effect. What does that mean for you?

Clients who are uninsured or self-pay may request a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges in accordance with federal law.
